Visibility & Growth
Consulting & Business Development
Growth does not happen by chance — it comes from clarity about the business model, the right priorities and consistent implementation. That is exactly where we support you: entrepreneurial, direct, implementation-focused — and with AI-supported analysis of your figures.
Why work with us
Consulting from entrepreneurs, not from theorists.
We know the questions that keep you awake at night from our own experience: Where is the next franc worth spending? Which market, which offering, which sequence? Our answers do not come from a textbook, but from building companies ourselves.
That is why our consulting does not end with a slide deck: we stay on board through implementation — and because we have fiduciary services, digitalisation and marketing in-house, we can put what has been decided into practice with you right away.
Entrepreneurial perspective
We advise from the practice of building our own companies — pragmatic and honest.
Implementation, not paperwork
Roadmaps that get realised — with us at your side until the measures take effect.
Everything in-house
Strategy, figures, digitalisation, presence — the implementation comes from a single source.
Scope of services
From situation assessment to implementation.
Situation Assessment & Strategy
Where do you stand, where do you want to go, and what is holding you back? We create clarity — with a sharpened business model and a roadmap that sets priorities.
- Analysis of business model, market and figures
- Positioning, target-customer profile and refinement of the offering
- Digitalisation and AI potential as an integral part of the overall strategy
- Priorities and roadmap with milestones
- Clear decision-making foundations instead of gut feeling
- Choice of legal form and incorporation handling — supported by our fiduciary team
Facilitated Strategy Workshops
Some decisions need everyone responsible around one table — and someone who is not a party to the matter. We facilitate one- to two-day strategy workshops with your leadership team: prepared with figures and hypotheses, guided with method, concluded with decisions.
- Retreat with the leadership team — one to two days, externally facilitated
- Development of a mission statement, vision and values that hold up day to day
- Structured discussion instead of a meeting with no outcome
- Documented measures with responsibilities and deadlines
Business-Management Consulting
Most SMEs do not have a numbers problem — they have an analysis problem. The data sits in the accounting records, but the prices come from rules of thumb dating back years: hourly rates that were never recalculated, costings that no longer cover creeping cost increases. We turn your own figures into decisions — from cost accounting and costing to benchmarking. If we also handle your accounting, this arises directly from the mandate without any double entry.
- Introduction of lean cost accounting: operating statement based on your existing accounting
- Cost-covering hourly-rate and product costing with a clear price floor
- Order and project post-costing: which orders, customers and jobs really earn their keep
- Contribution-margin and break-even analysis as a permanent management tool
- Pricing strategy, discount and terms policy — including enforcing price increases
- Overhead analysis and cost-reduction programme with implementation control
- Purchasing and terms review as well as working-capital optimisation: inventory, receivables and payables periods
- Product-range and margin analysis — also directly from the data of your POS system
- Personnel-cost and capacity-utilisation analysis for sustainable wage structures
- Benchmarking against industry key figures and a risk map of your business
Implementation & Growth
The plan is half the work — the other half is staying the course. We support the implementation in fixed stages and open doors where our network helps.
- Market development and building a sales function
- Systematic new-customer acquisition: identifying target customers via public Swiss company data
- Building processes and structures
- Structured, legally compliant outreach — measurable rather than random
- Regular implementation reviews
- Connecting you with the right partners
Sales & Customer Acquisition
Selling is a process, not a talent. Anyone waiting for a born salesperson waits a long time — anyone who builds the process wins customers predictably. We build this system with you: from the first contact through the quote to the close, measurable at every stage.
- Sales audit with pipeline diagnosis: the fixed-price entry point that shows where enquiries are being lost
- AI-supported sales playbooks and conversation guides — created from your real sales cases, not from standard templates
- CRM sales process with pipeline stages, lead scoring and forecasting
- Automated quote follow-up: no offer is left unanswered
- Integration with systematic new-customer acquisition via public Swiss company data
- Sales materials that match your presence — from the same source as your web presence
Financing & Creditworthiness
Growth, succession and investment need capital — and whether a bank says yes is usually decided before the meeting: by the quality of the documentation. We prepare you so that your figures speak for you — and because we handle the accounting for many clients, we build the dossier directly from the source, not from lists submitted after the fact.
- Bankable financing dossier for a loan, lease or guarantee — built from your accounting
- Support right into the bank meeting: reasoning, key figures and answers to the critical questions
- Funding scan: Innosuisse, cantonal programmes and digitalisation funding — including application support
- Credit check and rating improvement for your own company
- Structuring succession and acquisition financing — as part of our end-to-end succession support
- A clear boundary: we advise and support — we never take receipt of client funds
Trade & Foreign-Trade Consulting
Import, export and international sourcing follow their own rules — from Incoterms to the customs tariff to proof of origin. We advise on this not from the seminar room, but from our own trading activity: we import ourselves, classify ourselves and negotiate with suppliers ourselves. We make this practical knowledge available to you — from the individual shipment to the complete export setup, with accounting and VAT under the same roof.
- Incoterms advice for each business case — including review of existing quotes and contracts
- Customs classification (Tares) and use of preferences: EUR.1, declaration of origin, REX
- Import support: documents, freight-forwarder briefing, coordination of customs clearance
- Initial export setup and customs-compliance check ahead of the FOCBS inspection
- Landed-cost calculation and supplier sourcing from our own trading practice
- VAT on import/export and fiscal representation in Switzerland
The craft of consulting
Method, not opinion.
A recommendation is only as good as the factual basis behind it. That is why every engagement with us begins with figures, not hypotheses — and ends with decisions that carry a name and a deadline.
Figures before recommendation
Before we recommend a direction, we analyse contribution margins per service, customer structure and capacity utilisation. What the gut says is checked against the income statement — not the other way round.
Prioritisation by impact and feasibility
We assess each measure by its effect on earnings and its feasibility in day-to-day operations. The result is a few levers that are implemented consistently — not forty items that disappear into a folder.
Documented decisions
Every decision is recorded in writing: what, who, by when. In the reviews, the status is checked — creating an implementation pressure that no concept paper can achieve.
Beyond that
Specialist mandates with substance.
Business Plan & Financing
A bankable business plan with a financial section — for a start-up, loan application or realignment, professionally prepared.
Succession & Transaction Support
Making the business ready for handover — and seeing the handover through to the end: valuation, documentation and a realistic roadmap, on request with active support from the discreet buyer search through the negotiation to the close. On the buyer's side, too, we assess, negotiate and coordinate at your side.
Sparring as an External Advisory Board
A fixed monthly sparring session with an entrepreneur's outside view — plain talk and experience, without a board mandate.
Controlling & Key-Figure Cockpit
Your key-figure cockpit on a monthly cycle: the figures that matter in your business — commented, put into context and with a clear recommendation on where to steer against. That way deviations become apparent before they get expensive.
SME Emergency Plan
What happens if you, as the owner, are unavailable tomorrow? We arrange it before it happens: deputisation, access rights and documented procedures — so that your business remains solvent and able to act, even when you temporarily cannot.
Digitalisation & AI Strategy
Where does automation pay off first, and what deliberately stays analogue? We develop the digitalisation roadmap for your business — and, with our in-house AI and automation expertise, we put it into practice right away.
Turnaround & Restructuring
When liquidity gets tight, speed counts: an unvarnished diagnosis, immediate measures to safeguard solvency and a restructuring roadmap that the bank takes seriously. The legal assessment — for example in the event of capital loss or over-indebtedness — is a matter for a lawyer, with whom we work in a coordinated manner.
ICS, Valuation & Regulations
A lean internal control system with the four-eyes principle and regulated payment approvals. Company valuations as standalone expert reports — for example on a change of shareholder, a shareholders' agreement or an inheritance division. Plus expense regulations for approval by the cantonal tax administration and an independent review of your business insurance cover — as pure analysis, without brokerage.
From practice
How a strategy review works with us.
The review sets the rhythm of our support: figures and progress are ready before the meeting — from the ongoing accounting, if it is handled by us, otherwise from your key-figure cockpit.
Preparation before the meeting
You receive the key figures and the status of all open measures in advance. No one spends the first half hour looking for figures — the review begins with interpretation.
90 focused minutes
Three questions structure the conversation: What worked? What didn't — and why? What do we change? Topics that require no decision fly off the agenda.
Decisions are put on record
Every decision is fixed in writing at the end — with a person responsible and a deadline. No "someone ought to", but "Mr Muster clarifies X by the 15th".
Follow-through, not forgetting
Between reviews, we actively check the status of open items. Whatever is stalling becomes visible before the next meeting comes round — and is the first thing on the table there.
Process
Clarity in four steps.
Initial consultation
Your starting position, your goals — free and non-binding.
Analysis
We take a close look at your business model, market and figures.
Roadmap
Priorities, stages, responsibilities — in black and white.
Support
Implementation in stages, with reviews and a direct line to us.
Who it's for
For entrepreneurs who want to move forward — at every stage.
Ambitious founders
You want to be properly set up from the start: a viable business model, sound price costing, clear positioning. We help you avoid the mistakes that are expensive to correct later on.
Established SMEs on a plateau
The business runs, but turnover has been stuck at the same level for years. We find the bottleneck — customer structure, capacity, sales or margin — and tackle it there, instead of a little everywhere.
Owners approaching handover
A succession needs three to five years of lead time. We make your business ready for handover: documented processes, less dependence on the owner, verifiable figures — this raises the value and widens the circle of buyers.
Family businesses professionalising
What worked on an ad-hoc basis for years needs structure with the next generation: clear roles, defined decision paths, figures instead of habit. We support this transition without losing the strengths of the family business.
Frequently asked questions
About the consulting.
What sets you apart from traditional management consultants?
Three things: we have built companies ourselves, we stay on board for the implementation — and fiduciary services, digitalisation and marketing are in-house with us. That way a recommendation becomes reality directly, without losses in handover.
Which companies is this intended for?
For SMEs, trades and founders — from the sole proprietorship to the business with several dozen employees. What matters is not the size, but the will to take the next step consistently.
Is this a one-off or ongoing support?
Both are possible: a focused situation assessment with a roadmap as a project — or ongoing support with regular reviews. Many start with the project and decide afterwards.
How quickly will I see results?
Clarity comes quickly: after the analysis you know where you stand and what to tackle first. How quickly results show up in the business depends on the measures — we deliberately prioritise what takes effect early.
How do you know what works in our industry?
Our method is industry-independent: contribution margins, customer structure, bottlenecks and pricing logic follow the same laws in every business — you bring the industry knowledge, we ask the right questions about it. Add to that our own entrepreneurial practice in trade and services. And where we lack specialist knowledge, we say so openly and bring in experts, rather than improvising.
As owners, do we lose control over our business?
No — the opposite is the goal. We make no decisions for you: we prepare the decision-making foundations, show options with their consequences and structure the process. The decision is made by you, the record is kept by us. Through the numbers-based approach and the clear decision paths, many owners experience for the first time that they really steer their business — instead of just reacting to it.
What if we cannot implement the roadmap alongside day-to-day operations?
We ask ourselves that question before you do: every roadmap goes through a capacity check — who is supposed to deliver this alongside day-to-day operations, and with how many hours per week? If the answer is unrealistic, it is staged or cut before anything is decided. And where the hands are missing internally, Tradebonus can implement parts itself — from the web presence and automation to the accounting. A roadmap that only works on paper is not something we hand over.
What belongs in an SME emergency plan?
Everything your business needs to stay able to act without you: a clear deputisation arrangement with powers of attorney, regulated access rights to accounts, e-banking and passwords, as well as documented procedures for payments, wages and key customers. The result is a dossier that takes effect immediately in an emergency — and, along the way, reduces exactly the owner-dependence that makes every business vulnerable. Where desired, in an emergency our fiduciary team takes over parts of the deputisation, for example in payment transactions.
Do you also support the purchase of a company?
Yes. An acquisition is often a faster route to your own business than a start-up — but also the more demanding one. We support you from the search for and valuation of suitable target companies through the review of figures and contracts to negotiation and completion, including the coordination of financing, legal advice and the commercial register. You decide, we structure the process — so that you don't buy the first company that comes along, but the right one.
When is consulting with us not worthwhile?
When a decision is already made and just needs confirming — or when the willingness to actually implement measures is missing. With us, consulting works through implementation, not through a concept paper. If it isn't a fit, we say so in the initial consultation — that is part of the method.
Can you check whether our prices are right?
Yes — this is one of the most common assignments. We recalculate your hourly rates or your product costing from the ground up: full costs, mark-up rates, target margin, price floor. In addition, we compare the pre- and post-costing of completed orders — this shows which jobs really pay off and where hours get out of hand. If we also handle your accounting, the data basis is already in place; otherwise we work with your existing figures. Many businesses cost using rates that have not been adjusted for years — the price floor is usually higher than the gut assumes.
Do you also help in a crisis?
Yes — and the earlier you come, the greater the room for manoeuvre. We prepare an honest crisis diagnosis, safeguard liquidity with immediate measures and support the talks with the bank, landlord and creditors, based on an action plan grounded in figures. Equally clear is what we are not: in the event of capital loss or over-indebtedness, the corporate bodies have statutory duties — their legal assessment and representation are a matter for a lawyer, with whom we coordinate closely. We handle the business-management side; we leave the legal side to the lawyers.
Do you also broker loans?
No — and we draw this line deliberately. We structure your financing dossier, prepare the documentation to a bankable standard and support you right into the bank meeting. The loan, lease or guarantee contract is concluded directly between you and the bank; we never take receipt of client funds. We support corporate financing exclusively — we do not broker consumer loans.
What does a sales audit give me?
Clarity about where your sales function loses enquiries. For a fixed price, we analyse your current process from the first contact to the close: how do enquiries come in, who follows up and when, how many quotes are left unanswered? The result is a pipeline diagnosis with prioritised measures — what gets fixed first and why. Whether you then tackle the implementation with us or on your own is up to you.
Next step
Clarity begins with a conversation.
